Practical tips for your safety and enjoyment
- Please wear soft non-slip shoes.
- We supply all safety equipment.
- Wear warm clothes for cold days.
- No Smoking.
- Remember your camera.
- Although we dine in the comfort of the cabin, the sailing element is outdoors so a waterproof coat and trousers are essential if it’s raining
- Pets of any description are not permitted on board.
What to wear?
That really depends on our famous Lake District weather! The main thing to remember is that on all experiences we are out on deck sailing for the first part of the experience. If it is raining then please have a waterproof coat and trousers. We do dine below deck in the comfort of the saloon but being warm and dry on deck makes for a better experience!
There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing! No stiletto heels!
BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE WEATHER
I booked this as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday with 3 friends & we all had a wonderful time. A lovely way to spend a few hours, very... read more relaxing & we enjoyed a superb lunch. John made this a very enjoyable experience, with the added bonus that my husband was able to sail the yacht. We will definitely be back to try an evening dine ‘n’ sail experience.

On a balmy sunny evening we were picked up by John and driven to the harbour. We left the jetty and slowly cruised down the lake, as the sun was... read more slowly sinking in the sky. There we were, on deck, watching the world go by.
John found us a lovely quiet spot where we were served a lovely dinner of our choosing from the menu he provided. All this as the sun slowly set in the sky.
After several delicious courses, accompanied by wine, and then coffee, it was, sadly, time to return to the jetty and then driven back to where we were staying.. You couldn’t wish for a better way to spend the evening.
John’s knowledge of the area, and general conversation, were very entertaining. He is an excellent host.
