- We supply all safety equipment.
- Wear warm clothes for cold days.
- No Smoking.
- Remember your camera.
- Although we dine in the comfort of the cabin, the sailing element is outdoors so a waterproof coat and trousers are essential if it’s raining
- Pets of any description are not permitted on board.
What to wear?
That really depends on our famous Lake District weather! The main thing to remember is that on all experiences we are out on deck sailing for the first part of the experience. If it is raining then please have a waterproof coat and trousers. We do dine below deck in the comfort of the saloon but being warm and dry on deck makes for a better experience!
There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing! No stiletto heels!
BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE WEATHER
On a balmy sunny evening we were picked up by John and driven to the harbour. We left the jetty and slowly cruised down the lake, as the sun was... read more slowly sinking in the sky. There we were, on deck, watching the world go by.
John found us a lovely quiet spot where we were served a lovely dinner of our choosing from the menu he provided. All this as the sun slowly set in the sky.
After several delicious courses, accompanied by wine, and then coffee, it was, sadly, time to return to the jetty and then driven back to where we were staying.. You couldn’t wish for a better way to spend the evening.
John’s knowledge of the area, and general conversation, were very entertaining. He is an excellent host.

Skipper John was an amazing host and Maddie Too is a beauty. This was a wedding anniversary celebration and we couldn’t have asked for more. Couldn’t believe my luck when... read more I was offered the helm and I didn’t want to let go so my husband could take over the sailing! John was so chilled, answering every one of my silly questions! John is the font of all knowledge, he was so entertaining with great historical and local knowledge! We were given such a good understanding of the lake and all it’s charms. Lunch was amazing, with great variety of fresh, quality ingredients and so thoughtfully put together, including a home made cheese and onion gluten free pie and John’s mum’s delicious apple chutney and gluten free fruit cake! ‘Proper honest’ food & the wine was nice too. Thank you so much John (and mum) for catering for my dietary needs. We had the most unforgettable day, an anniversary to remember and we would return to this experience in a flash ☠️
